Welcome to Ponderosa Campground -WE WILL OPEN FOR THE 2026 SEASON BEGINNING 06/01.
Ponderosa Campground and Cabins provide you with the beautiful combination of pine, aspen and cottonwood trees beside the Conejos River. We have 20 RV sites and 6 cabins. Four cabins have a bedroom, kitchen and bath. Two cabins have a kitchenette and sleeping accommodations. There is a small store, fly fishing supplies and licenses, laundry and clean restrooms. Enjoy fishing, hiking, biking, jeeping, ATVing and hunting. The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Train can be boarded in Antonito, Colorado, or Chama, New Mexico. It is the highest and longest narrow-gauge railroad in the North American continent. Enjoy an authentic railroad trip that brings Colorado history to the present day. Drive the Los Caminos Antiguos Scenic Byway which follows the trails of the Spanish Conquerors.

Dogs: For campers staying a week or less, there is a $5/dog/day fee with no more than 3 dogs per site. We ask that you clean-up after your pets, keep them on a leash and keep them as quiet as possible. Dogs cannot be left unattended.
Reservation & Cancellation Policies: Reservations may be made one year in advance with a non refundable deposit.

ATV/Motorcycle Use: All vehicles and trailers must fit within campsite. If they don’t, and you have made arrangements with staff, they may be parked elsewhere on the premises for a $5 daily fee. Otherwise, they may need to be parked off Ponderosa property. ATV/Motorcycle use is restricted within the campground. OHV passes available on site.
CAMPFIRES: No campfires. Propane fire pits only.
